My buddy Perry stopped by to see how bad I scratched up his paint job.
Headlights and grill shell are next.
With the hood on it's starting to take shape.
I can't put my finger on it but there's still something missing...

With the photo-shoot over I spring back into action. The hood fit is checked and the fastening points are fine-tuned. Everyone is starting to come around now to check on the progress, and before I knew it, the cab was back on the frame and I was ready for the final wiring.

I had bought all new VDO gauges for the car, which I had already installed, in the new dash. The gauges consisted of; oil pressure, oil temperature, cylinder head temperature, voltmeter, gas gauge and a tachometer. A speedometer would be nice but it is rather complicated to hook up because there is no speedometer drive to hook into. It can be done with an electrical speedometer and magnetic pick-ups on the rear brake drums. I will do this much later when I have the time. The ignition switch and indicator lights were also in. I had already made up the main wiring loom from the engine and back of the car to the front of the car so all that really remained is to do the hook-ups to the fuse block and dash. That sounds simple but this probably took another ten or so hours of the few I had left.
