Now for the rear hairpins. Oh what the heck... let's admire it in the sun for awhile.
I've only got about two weeks until my first show. I can't believe I started this project only two and a half months ago. I wonder if I'm still married.

The last few items that will be put on the transaxle will be the shocks and clutch slave cylinder. The shocks have been inspected thoroughly, cleaned and painted. The shafts are a little pitted from years of storage so they may not last very much longer but this is one of the corners that I’m willing to cut to save a few bucks.

The springs have been chromed and reinstalled on the shocks so it’s a matter of bolting them in place.

Next comes the slave cylinder. This part was on the car when I bought it and did not appear to be leaking so I will run it.

(Later I found out that this was one corner that I could not cut and the unit had to be replaced)

With the cylinder in place I can reinstall the plumbing, which I have prefabricated.

I have always enjoyed this part of a project where everything starts to come together. Unfortunately I have a tendency to sit and admire my work and I have to keep moving because I’m running out of time. The party is in two weeks and I’ve just learned that there’s a Day On The Green event in Petaluma this weekend.

 Back to work.
